Loving every moment

I am loving every moment of Springtime, when Sandhill Cranes visit my winter pond,

flowers bloom and Daffodil Hill transpires,

a neighbor’s driveway glows pink once more,

and a Phoebe accidentally flies through an open door and perches on my windowsill.

Some folks believe it is bad luck for a bird to fly inside one’s house. I’m not superstitious so I accepted the incident as it happened–a door left open a bird flew in–nothing more, nothing less. Concerned for the Phoebe, I waited for it to calm down. The poor thing was so frightened and tuckered out, it didn’t move when I approached from behind, gently cradled my hand around its body, and set it free. I watched the little Phoebe fly away, thinking that’s what spring is about:  freedom to enjoy the season. To read outdoors, write from my laptop, watch the flowers bloom, or simply soak up the sunshine.

Robin Williams said, “Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!”

Picnics, barbecues, campfire s’mores, and beach-side gatherings sounds good to me.

How about it? What do you love about springtime?

Note: I visited Daffodil Hill on its first open day. Due to rain on the following days, Daffodil Hill is closed for the season.
